10/06/2019 Sergeant John Coyle is buried in Ranville Cemetery in France.
10/06/2019 Sergeant John Coyle was serving with the 1st (Airborne) Battalion of the Royal Ulster Rifles when he was killed in action on 7th June 1944. He was 34 years old.
10/06/2019 Sergeant Coyle served in A Company. As part of the Normand landings in June 1944, he landed on Drop Zone N at Ranville in France at 9pm on 6th June 1944. It is believed he was killed at Ste Honorine the following morning.
