| Fusilier Robert Trainor was serving with the 6th Battalion of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers when he died on 5th August 1943.

| The attack to cross the River Simeto in Sicily started at 10:30 on the morning of the 5th August. Fusilier Trainor may have been killed during that attack or he may have died of wounds suffered at the battles for Centuripe of the Salso on 3rd and 4th August.
