Summary      
Marshall Caskey was the son of Marshall & Margaret Jane Caskey. Although the family were originally from Swatragh / Maghera, Marshall was born in Glasgow on 17th April 1896. The 1911 census lists Marshal as age 15 in, Garvagh. He was working as a farm labourer for the Thompson family. Marshall enlisted in Kilmarnock. Private Marshall Caskey was serving with the 1st Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers when he was killed in action on 23rd July 1916.

Summary      
The Thiepval Memorial will be found on the D73, next to the village of Thiepval, off the main Bapaume to Albert road (D929). Each year a major ceremony is held at the memorial on 1 July.
