Summary      
William John Moore was the son of William and Mary Ann Moore. William was born about 1892 in Desertmartin. William Moore enlisted in Manchester on 3rd November 1914. While in the field with the Manchester Regiment in Salonika, he contracted malaria and was admitted to hospital in Corfu. His health remained poor and it was not until 5th August 1918 that he returned to Salonika. He joined the 11th Battalion of the Welsh Regiment on 7th September 1918. Private William John Moore was serving with the 11th Battalion of the Welsh Regiment when he was killed in action on 18th September 1918.

Doiran Military Cemetery is situated in the north of Greece close to the Macedonia border and near the south-east shore of Lake Doiran. It is approximately 2 kilometres north west of Drossato village.
