18/07/2017 Alexander : In loving memory of Robert Alexander who died 31st Dec 1911, aged 62 years - also his son, Samuel, who died 8th Jan 1887, aged 2 years - also his son, Robert, who died 31st Oct 1918, aged 21 years - also his son, Hugh, who died 6th April 1924, aged 33 years - also his wife, Martha, who died 20 Aug 1940, aged 88 years - also his daughter, Margaret Ellen, who died 2nd May 1945, aged 62 years - also his son, Samuel, who died 19th Nov 1967, aged 75 - also his wife, Ellen Jane, who died 28th November 1991, aged 87 years.

29/08/2016 Robert has no listing in the CWGC. Nor is there a medal card pertaining to him.
29/08/2016 Robert Alexander is buried at Moneydig Presbyterian Church in the family plot.
29/08/2016 Robert Alexander died in hospital on 31st October 1918. He was 21 years old.
29/08/2016 A few days after arriving, he was admitted to Blandford Military Hospital in Dorset suffering from influenza, which then developed into pneumonia.
29/08/2016 The two men enlisted in Garvagh and were sent to Omagh. From there, they travelled on to Burton Camp in England.
29/08/2016 Bob left Kilrea on 15th October 1918 with Hugh Pedan to enlist in the Royal Air Force.
